Next Southern CA Immigration Coalition meeting
Sunday, March 22, 2009 11:00AM
Location: Centro Cultural Francisco Villa
2100 Maple Ave. LA, CA 90011
(In front of Santee Education Complex)
Here are some pictures from the VERY successful action today in front of Miguel Contreras Learning Complex. Our coalition had a VERY strong presence, we passed out hundreds of fliers for the March 28th march and we had strong coverage from the media! Thank you to all of you who showed up!!
Although President Obama totally disregarded us and did not even MENTION immigration reform in his speech, our COMMUNITY came out and participated with our coalition and were reminded that only through community organization could we 1. STOP the ICE RAIDS and 2. get FULL LEGALIZATION for ALL people! They understood that we were not there to protest against the President, but that we were there to pressure Obama until he fulfills his promise to our community!
Join us this Sunday to continue advancing this work!! This week we will be joined by at least 2 more organizations who will be endorsing our coalition!! The Frente Sandinista de Liberacion Nacional and the Frente Indigena de Organizaciones Binacionales!! That means we now count with almost 40 organizations in Southern CA that are part of our coalition!! The work is growing!!!
See you on Sunday at 11:00AM!! Show up early to get a seat…at the last meeting we ran out of chairs by 11:10am!!

This is already looking like if it’s going to be one of the largest Immigration Conferences in the nation. We are getting more endorsements from different organizations from all over.
If your organization has not yet endorsed or confirmed your participation, please contact us ASAP!
PLEASE distribute these fliers widely!! Print them out and pass them out at work, in school or anywhere else where people are supportive of the cause.
