Here are some pictures from the VERY successful action today in front of Miguel Contreras Learning Complex. Our coalition had a VERY strong presence, we passed out hundreds of fliers for the March 28th march and we had strong coverage from the media! Thank you to all of you who showed up!!
One of the themes of Sleep Dealer is the impending water crisis, and likely ‘Water Wars.’ As water becomes more and more scarce, and the ‘free market’ is used to parce out the remaining supplies, bizarre, and nightmarish consequences are sure to await.
Our incredible post-production supervisor, Jess Levin sent along this article about the nightmare coming true…
Check the slideshow out - it’s all true, but looks a lot like our science fiction.
An interesting article here — now it’s not only the U.S. that is using drones. Apparentely, Iran is also launching drones, and the U.S. is taking them out. Could the future of war be drone versus drone? Robot versus robot?
This is one of the few robots I’d like to put a saddle on, and ride off into the sunset (too bad this pony’s headed to the Pentagon)…
Over 350 students from LA and ELA shighs schools made Sleep Dealer screening a success today at the Beaudry Theatre. The response from the young students was great. A great turn with Roosevelt, Lincoln, Wilson high schoos; Miguel Contreras Learning Complex, Edward Roybal Learning Center and El Sereno Middle School. With a filled the auditorium. Thanks to Sonia Rosario for a great motivational talk. Also great discussion and exchange by Carlos Montes, Laura Palomares and a great enthusiastic talk by Roberto Bravo. We had planned on this since January and our Community Grassroots Team did an excellent job. Our agenda was short and to the point, with sharp politics, with the emphasis on the film and the release for April 17. We even had middle schools students do a short talk and a poem. We are doing more screenings and presentations in the field in the next several weeks.
